Evie Lucas Music

Evie Lucas is an Australian singer, songwriter, guitarist, and DJ based in Melbourne, drawing inspiration from Lianne La Havas, Ella Fitzgerald and Melody Gardot. Her music intricately weaves melodies through personal stories and experiences, emphasising emotional honesty complimented with jazz and fingerpicking patterns on guitar, lush harmonies and electronic drum elements.

Originally from regional South Australia, Evie’s journey into music has been deeply influenced by her unique background as a donor-conceived individual. She advocates for the rights of donor-conceived people to access their genetic information, shedding light on an often-overlooked aspect of personal identity. Writing about her experience reveals the constant development and unraveling bombshells that keep giving emotional substance to her work. The strategic nature of navigating various agencies, government bodies, and eventually family—presenting herself as a deserving human seeking information about her biological identitywas the impetus behind her song "Game of Chess."

In 2018, Evie relocated to Bali, where she collaborated with friend and fellow musician Rizal Abdul Hadi to produce her debut EP. Now, in 2024, she showcases her evolution as an artist with self-produced tracks and co-productions alongside Dave Audinary. Her latest work embraces a fusion of electronic music and jazz elements, reflecting her growth and diverse influences while maintaining her signature lyrical depth. Evie Lucas continues to captivate audiences with her compelling sound and heartfelt storytelling.
